**This position is for Muhlenberg South Elementary School. 

 

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Perform technical health-related duties to assure that federal performance standards of the health services program are met; perform screening tests at an assigned school; train and provide health information to students, staff and parents.

 

REQUIRMENTS FOR POSITION:

 

• provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff
• administer routine medicine and selected prescribed treatments as delegated by the supervising school nurse
• document care
• maintain files and records, reports and referrals
• communicate effectively with students, parents, nurses, and other school personnel
• work to assist school secretary with various duties as time permits at the discretion of the school principal and school nurse
• reports directly to the supervising school nurse and indirectly to the Director and Principal of the designated school site

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Valid LPN Certificate is preferred; valid Kentucky driver's license

 

Minimum of High School diploma with health care experience and/or college courses in Heath Care 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

CPR, Basic First Aid and Medication Administration preferred but not necessary. This

training will be provided upon hiring.
