Reports To: Superintendent
Primary Job Responsibility: To provide leadership in developing, maintaining and implementing the best possible certified and classified staff for Muhlenberg County Schools. To assist the Superintendent in the execution of duties and responsibilities at the school, district and state level.
Essential Functions of Job Responsibility:
Administration and Personnel
Plans and directs a program for the recruitment, selections and assignment of the best qualified staff in all job classifications to include job announcements, application procedures and interviews.
Administers and monitors the Board's policy on all matters of recruitment, hiring, training, transfers, promotion, compensation and other benefits in compliance with EEOC regulations.
Oversees the Maintenance of all Certified and Classified Employee Files/Records.
District Random Drug Testing Program Coordinator.
Title IX Coordinator.
Implements all rules and regulations, Policies and Procedures as adopted by the Board of Education.
Responsible for Policy and Employees handbook. District Certified Evaluation Contact.
Serves as consultant for the Transportation Department.
Communicates to the Superintendent matters relating to employees.
Conducts investigations in district matters as required by the Education Professional Standards Board, Office of Education Accountability, and the Division of Management Assistance.
Investigates Parent and Employee Grievances.
Compiles, assembles, and submits the Minority Educator Recruitment and Retention Annual Report.
Monitors and Calculates personnel staffing allocations both certified and classified for district schools.
Coordinates staffing with principals and central office administrators. Screens and processes applications for certified/classified personnel. Monitors evaluation process of all certified/classified personnel.
Assists in interpreting Board Policies and State laws.
Education and Experience:
School Superintendent Certification
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
240 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
